Why does every episode of House have to start with a misdirection?

Two or more people are on screen, and one is developing obvious symptoms. Gasp! A case? But wait! A random person to the left or right develops an even more sudden and inexplicable set of symptoms out of the blue. BOOM! That new person is incapacitated. Good, time to roll the intro.

I mean, I still like House, but hasn’t the formulaic open gotten old?
