My name is Erick, and my last name means something inappropriate in German. I discovered this back in high school when I was Googling myself. (And Germans have some freaky porn. Yikes.) I also discovered that there's another guy with my exact name out in California. He takes pictures of car dealerships.

I'm an American three years into an undergraduate degree and three-and-a-half years into a long term relationship. My entire educational background has prepared me for sociological research, but I decided that's no fun. Office space is just a collection of soul crushing cubes.

After weighing all my options, I've decided I want to be a cop. I've been hitting the gym, trying to whip myself into shape. I'll be applying for the local police academy in January, hopefully able to join right after I graduate with a degree I have no intention on using.

I just realized

I just realized that when my phone runs out of power it sings a little song as it is turning off. I never thought about it before. If it didn’t sing a song, it’d probably get an extra minute of battery life.

It wants to sing a dying song! The least you could do is give it that!

You know, we’d probably all be less mad at technology if it played a pleasant tune while it was fucking up.
