blanketing opinions that i'll probably regret soon

Fuck yeah, fashion

Okay, so watching TV shows on Hulu made me feel under dressed, which is a little weird considering the fact that I’m at work and supposed to attend a company luncheon in a half hour, so I actually took the time to dress up… It’s probably the fact that I’m wearing jeans and sneakers below my fancy blue shirt with a gray knit sweater vest… At any rate, I started looking at clothes online, and I feel secure enough in my masculinity to talk about it online.

So I started at Old Navy because they sold me that brown corduroy blazer I have for $25. The online store still had it in gray (which is actually what I was looking for. It’s nice to have options.), but for $35 and only in XXXL. Now, I’m a big guy, but even I can’t fill out that much of a jacket. I’m going for a nice look, not baggy and homeless.

Dismayed at the lack of other blazers, I clicked around to a few difference sites. I’ve never even entered a Banana Republic store and immediately confirmed why when I glanced at the prices. Well, it seems like casual-ish blazers are actually a little hard to come by. Weird.

So I gave up on blazers and just started clicking things at random. I wound up on JC Penney’s page under the vests tab. I like sweater vests, so why not. Oh crap! A sale! Legitimate vest vests. NOT sweater vests. I already have one of those bad boys in brown ($25 at… Target? Walmart?) but…

I’m thinking of expanding my wardrobe so I can accommodate either browns OR grays and blacks. This would mean getting new dress shoes at some point, but let’s just think short-term here. Should sink $25 or $35 on a nice vest? Gray or slate or something?
